Presentation

In this category, the contestant is given 3 minutes with no prop set up or break down time. They are required to state their name, the contest they are representing and where they are from within this 3 minute time period. They are judged on stage presence, self confidence, ability to communicate, general appearance, self expression, delivery and content. Contestant should dress to impress and to best represent their "persona".

The presentation category is limited to three (3) minutes. There is no prop set up or break down time in this category.

* Presentation has a total value of 30 points.

Creative Evening Wear

The purpose of this category is to show creativity and individuality. The contestant is not limited to an evening gown. Scores are given for presentation, poise, hair & makeup, fit, coordination, creativity and general appearance.

* Creative Evening Wear has a total value of 40 points.

On-Stage Question

The contestant is asked a question and responds to the question on stage. The question is formed from the individual biography that is written by the contestant and submitted at the time of registration. Scores are given for appearance, presentation, self-confidence, answer content and ability to communicate.

* On-Stage Question has a total value of 10 points.

Talent

The time limit for talent is 7 minutes. Talent is judged on costume, hair & makeup, the precision of whatever medium is used (live, dance, lip sync) and the entertainment value. This is the highest point category and contestants should aim to create an incredible and memorable performance! Be creative!

Any type of talent is acceptable, except those that are illegal or which might cause personal injury to the audience or any other person.

There is a total of 5 minutes alloted for prop set up and break down. If a contestant goes over this time allotment, 50% of all judges scores for the contestant's talent category will be deducted. Talent presentations will be timed.

*Talent has a total value of 120 points.

California Entertainer of the Year Rules and Regulations
RULES AND REGULATIONS

1. Contestants must be males and at least 18 years of age that are residents of California or that reside within 150 miles of the California border.

2. Judging will be on the total accumulated points system. Additional interview questions from our judges will be used to break a tie.

3. Contestants will be judged in the following categories: On Stage Interview, Presentation, Creative Evening Wear and Talent.

4. California Entertainer of the Year has a zero-tolerance for drug possesion or use. Any contestant in possesion of illegal substances will be disqualified and permanently banned.

5. Any contestant found to be involved in theft or vandalism of any other contestant's property will be disqualified and permanently banned.
